THE LODGE
Built from local materials and floor to ceiling glass windows, the lodge boasts spectacular views over the Karoo and surrounding mountains.
SLEEPING
The beds are supplied with duvets and pillows so you only need to carry sheets and pillow slips. Stone Lodge sleeps seven in five singles and one double bed. The double bed is located on the lower level in its own private room with an adjacent bathroom. The other beds are situated on raised “annexes” off the main lodge living area. Both bathrooms have showers with views of the surrounding peaks and Karoo.
LIVING
An indoor log-fireplace heats up the open plan living, dining, sleeping and kitchen areas. The fully equipped kitchen has no oven but there is a 2 plate gas hob and a 12V camping fridge. There is a small 220V inverter, suitable for charging devices. Electric lights are available. Outdoors is a large wooden deck with a private horizon plunge pool.
THE AREA
Situated in the picturesque Eastern Cape and sharing two borders with the Groendal Wilderness Area, Kleinrivier Wilderness offers you the ideal opportunity to escape the pressures of city life in a pristine mountain environment.
Spend your days exploring the many trails that lead you through picturesque gorges dotted with ancient cycads. Swim in icy mountain pools or simply relax on the luxurious couch in front of a roaring log fire.
GOOD TO KNOW
Stone Mountain Lodge can only be reached by hiking the Two Gorges Trail which is rated 4/5. The walk takes four to five hours in each direction. Slackpacking is an option at no extra cost.
Alternatively, should you have a 4x4 vehicle, a surcharge of R1000 per vehicle is charged for driving up via the 4 x 4 route.
Linen is supplied for all the beds with a mattress cover, bottom sheet, duvet, duvet cover as well as a pillow and pillow slip. On check in each new guest will be provided with an additional bottom and top sheet as well as pillow slip to be used over the ones provided or you are welcome to pack your own sleeping bag and pillow slip. Guests must please pack their own towels.

50% deposit required upon booking.
Cancellation Policy
If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit
If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit
If cancelling 60 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit
